You’ve heard there’s no place like home, but the truth is, there’s no place like YOUR home. If you’re thinking of buying a new Tresidio home or are about to start the building process, you’ve probably done some homework. Because we want to provide you with as much information about Tresidio Homes as possible, we thought you’d be interested in the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.

How long will it take to complete my home?

It takes seven to eight months from contract to complete a home. New builds starting now (in August 2021) are scheduled for closing in 2022. At Tresidio Homes, we set realistic expectations for our customers’ building experience, and often exceed them! You will work directly with your Tresidio agent to schedule your groundbreaking, so that you always know where your home is in the construction process. 

Why does it take that long to build a new construction home?

During the pre-construction process, you have the opportunity to choose each detail in your home — from flooring and cabinets to paint colors and fixtures. This process consists of several meetings — including with the architect and designer — and there are big decisions to make, so we give you ample time to feel confident in your choices. After all, it’s easier to make design changes before construction even starts! 

The building process also takes longer than usual because of the high demand and low supply of nearly all building materials. From lumber to appliances, there’s often a backlog from suppliers, which means it takes longer for us to receive these materials, which can impact building timelines. As materials become more widely available, we will likely see shorter construction timelines for new homes.

Am I allowed to make changes to a home design or floor plan?

Tresidio Homes is a semi-custom builder, which means you have the ability to customize floor plans to meet your wants and needs. For example, you may choose to extend the patio, add a powder room, or expand the garage. Our architects work from a collection of floor plans, but we have never built the same home twice! You can begin customizing your unique, one-of-a-kind home right on our website with our interactive floor plans. 

What happens in the Design Studio?

In the Design Studio, our experienced design team will guide you through the streamlined and fun process of selecting from thousands of beautiful finishes! You will choose nearly every detail in your home, including kitchen cabinets, flooring, interior paint, light fixtures, and more. Our state-of-the-art, 1,700-square-foot studio offers you all choices in one place that you can touch and feel vs. shopping online or rushing around to multiple stores.

How much does it cost to build a new home in Idaho?

Since all of our homes are personalized to the customer, there is no set price per square foot. That’s really up to the customer in terms of how much square footage they add onto our floor plans, or how expensive their finishes are. Location can also impact the cost of a home. 

What we can guarantee, though, is a home of exceptional quality and last value no matter the customizations or selected finishes.

What is your home building process like?

Streamlined and efficient. Here are the 10 steps that will take your home from contract to completion:

Step 1: Meet with our new construction specialists to choose your lot and floor plan, and get a customized price quote

Step 2: Sign a purchase agreement with us

Step 3: Work with your new construction specialist and architect to finalize your floor plan

Step 4: Meet with the design team to choose finishes

Step 5: Meet with your new construction specialists to finalize pricing and dates

Step 6: Construction begins! We break ground on your new home.

Step 7: Install custom finishes. You are updated every step of the way with photos from your project manager.

Step 8: Closing and Move-In Day!

Step 9: Follow up with any warranty concerns

Step 10: Enjoy the memories in your beautiful new Tresidio home!

Do I need a REALTOR® to buy a Tresidio home?

No. You are not required to have a real estate agent to purchase or build a home with us. However, if you are represented by an agent that referred you to Tresidio Homes, we will pay them a referral fee when your home closes.

Where do you build? Do you only build in specific subdivisions?

We currently build in eight communities across Treasure Valley in Idaho. We only build in communities we develop and do not offer build-on-your-lot homes at this time.
